Child Soldiers of Sierra Leone.

1. Why did the rebels and Government soldiers want to use children as soldiers?
The rebels and the Government soldiers used the little boys and girls as tools for war because these children had no intensions of standing up and not doing what he/she was told because all they knew was that they were drugged and if they disobeyed the rebels they would be killed. The children were small, weaker, away from their parents, drugged, and willing to do anything for food. Even though I am also a child I know that they weren't as well educated probably and they could/would/did believe anything the rebels told them. They were easily manipulated. The rebels thought that they were teaching them how to be good soldiers but they were actually ruining the little children' lives.

2. Why do you think that many of the children said that they have "Not future"?
Because these children were took at a young age, they grew up living most of their teenage years as soldiers or servants, they were in this state of mind that because they did these bad things (being forced to) people won't love them again. They didn't think there was any hope of finding their families, and being excepted in their villages. Some of them also didn't think that their parents would even remember them. They have a new over look on life, a bad one. They didn't think that they could ever get better. Some did, but there are still some who hasn't found their parents and think that killing people are ok.

Sudan in trouble.

1. A genocide is a mass killing of a group of people. First targeted and then killed. Example - The Jews in Hitler's time.

2. A civil war is a war within a country. Two different types of people from the same country fighting. For political, racial, or social differences.

3.Sudan's civil war started in 1971 and ended in 1982.

4.Because racial, cultural, and religious differences within Sudan. Also because the North wanted to get the South's oil, and because in the South it's Christian and in the North it is mainly Muslim.

5.17 million. Tortured, raped, and the schools and hospitals are being bombed.

6. The country should be separated so that they can stop fighting and inocent lives could be spared.

7. The lost boys are a lot of boys (1000 or even more) that every day get threatend by wild animals and people on their journey to save their own lives. They walked from Sudan to Ethiopia and then to Kenya trying to get help. 100 of the Lost Boys were taken to America for a new chance. There are still 1000's left.

I care about (pictures)...

I care about...

I care about the environment, animals, poverty and obviously my family and friends. I really think that what we are doing is horrible, you know what, I don't even think there is a word to explain what we are doing! We are destroying, ruining, stealing, and hurting the animals' environment. People don't remember but we are animals too (just more sophisticated) . We want to be respected, so we have to respect the animals of this world.

Well I care about poverty too. I think that if we don't do something our population will decrease immensely. It is already. Because I am from South Africa I use to see poverty everyday. I really want to stop this. But my family is really important to me as well. I care about them, and now that my sister will be leaving us in December (for university) I will be the only kid in the house. I will miss her, but luckily I will still have my mom and dad. I love them very much. I care about a lot of things because they are important to me.
